The NAEC (National Association of Elevator Contractors) Convention and Exposition, which took place September 28-October 1, is the largest show at which Schumacher Elevator exhibits annually. This year, the show was held in Boston with over 2,700 attendees and 199 exhibitors. Doug Rummelhart, National Sales Director, says, “Traffic was steady both days, a little busier than past years.”
The exhibition team scanned people’s badges to collect information on people who requested additional data. Of those scans, most people were interested in power units with Bucher valves, and there were several literature requests for LULA and residential units.
Dan Klein, Vice President of Operations, says, “The NAEC Convention allows us to establish and strengthen personal relationships with other attendees, whether they are customers, consultants, or suppliers. The elevator business is most definitely a relationship business. Those personal relationships assist us in the business we transact throughout the year. Along with meeting people on the exhibition floor, there were several receptions during the show that provided networking opportunities.”
Doug Rummelhart added, “The show is great to showcase our new equipment. What is nice about NAEC is that they move the show to a different location each year, so we are able to meet new independent elevator contractors and consultants in one place.”
At the 2014 NAEC Convention, Jeff Schumacher was elected to the NAEC Board of Directors. This year, Jeff was sworn is as Treasurer and will serve as an officer of the association.
