- William and Bertha Schumacher founded Wm. Schumacher & Sons
- William built Schumacher Machine Shop in Denver, IA
1937-1962
- Concentrated on freight elevators, lifting platforms, and dumbwaiters
1958
- William Schumacher retired
- Elmer and Earl Schumacher continued business; Elmer assumed presidency
1962
- Began designing and manufacturing passenger elevators
1966
- Elmer Schumacher retired
- Marvin Schumacher assumed presidency
Early 1970s
- Began building cabs, platforms, and power units
1981
- Started building microprocessor controllers
1986
- Bought Polly Elevator Company (Sioux City, IA)
- Bought Bender Ross (Omaha, NE)
- Began manufacturing SPPE/manlifts
Early 1990s
- Began manufacturing LULA & Residential elevators
1992
- Bought Capital Elevator (Madison, WI)
2000
- Implemented SAP
- Built a new manufacturing plant and office facility in Denver, IA
2009
- Sales & Service office opened in Eagan, MN
2013
- Became the North American Distributor for Bucher Hydraulics elevator products
2019
- Expanded manufacturing and office facilities in Denver, IA
- Implemented the Python X - 7 axis CNC Robotic Plasma cutting to production
