The Schumacher Elevator SS5–PLC hydraulic elevator control system is specifically designed to meet the demands of the hydraulic elevator industry.

The SS5–PLC control is capable of handling single and multi–car group operation. The Programmable Logic Control (PLC) has proven to be dependable in many industrial control environments and applications. All safety functions are backed up by “self–guided” relays to provide additional protection and redundancy checking. All input and output functions of the PLC can be monitored and diagnosed using the LED indications. An optional human interface diagnostic tool is available for additional field troubleshooting and service. PLC parts can be purchased from a third–party vendor.

Absolute Landing System

The Absolute Landing System uses a dual camera architecture which provides precise speed and position of the elevator by reading a coded tape. The dual camera reader is SIL3-rated, allowing this device to take the place of multiple switches in a traditional landing system such as the STS-1 version. Slowdowns, floor levels, and other features are accessible through the controller interface for quick and easy final adjustments.

Sts-1 Landing System

The STS-1 elevator landing system installs quickly and is highly reliable. It is our legacy landing system and is available for hydraulic and traction modernizations and repairs.

Magnetic tape is applied to the 3" wide steel tape wherever slowdown, leveling, and stopping are required in the hoistway. The selector heads are held in position by nylon guides that follow a steel tape mounted to the rail system at the top and bottom of the hoistway. Stainless steel tape is also available.
