Schumacher Roped Hydraulic Elevators are a less expensive means of serving more landings than a typical traction elevator. The elevator uses a combination of cables and a piston to extend the rise of a holeless hydraulic elevator by a ratio of 2 to 1. Roped Hydraulic Elevators eliminate the risk of drilling in unknown or poor soil conditions. In addition, they are environmentally friendly, since they eliminate jack corrosion and oil leakage through electrolysis.
